Jake Halstead has been quietly working his way into the fabric of La Jolla’s surf scene over the past few years, punting on the inside section at Windansea, pulling in at Big Rock, and generally demolishing every lip he can find at Scripps. He’s done his time in front of the video cameras as well—a handful of web-clips prove that—but his big moment came this January at the ISA World Junior Championships where he finished runner-up in the Boys Under-16 division. The result helped the USA Surf Team secure the bronze—and made Halstead the highest-placed surfer from the States in 2010 ISA Junior competition. Considering that the next best result by a USA Surf Team member came from Kolohe Andino, who finished 5th, it’s worth keeping an eye on Halstead in the future.

The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
