The charismatic Hawaiian is coming off a remarkable season in which he was awarded 2005 Rookie Of The Year. Joining the ranks as a part of the new wave of Hawaiian competitors Patacchia is a fast, stylish surfer who combines an innovative approach with classic power surfing and barrel riding. He stunned fellow competitors last season with a slew of impressive results including a semi-final finish in epic conditions in Fiji. Pattachia’s years of experience on the World Qualifying Series have sharpened his attack, and his confidence overpowered any rookie year nervousness.
