Hailing from the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, Barca grew up as a part of the endless bucket of talent the islands have been producing. The rugged regular-footer has now emerged alongside the Irons brothers and Roy Powers as another Kauai native to grace the ASP World Tour with their presence alongside the rest of the world’s finest surfing pedigree. Considered by many to be the most underrated Hawaiian surfer on the planet, Barca will have 2009 to showcase his talent on a global scale to earn the recognition he deserves.
After hacking it out on the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) for several years, Barca’s hard-fought battle on the Grind will no doubt make him hungry to hold his head above water alongside the rest of the ASP Top 45. The 27-year-old is known for massive airs and pulling into sick barrels and the Hawaiian will come out all guns firing on his maiden voyage on the ASP World Tour in 2009.
