North Narrabeen’s Chris ‘Davo’ Davidson established himself as one of surfing’s top talents at the age of 16 and has continued to surface as one of the sport’s most intriguing personalities. After jet setting around the globe with Rip Curl’s ‘Search’ campaign in the early days of his career, Davo was consistently seen tearing into the world’s best waves with the likes of three-time ASP World Champion Tom Curren while establishing himself as a competitive threat by scalping two victories over Kelly Slater in Victoria.
The raw Australian has qualified and slipped off of Tour several times, but his most recent return has been the most consistent. Davidson continued to flare throughout 2010, finishing at No. 14 in the world despite having to withdraw from the Billabong Pipe Masters due to injury. At this stage it looks like the Aussie natural-footer has found his feet, so look for Davo’s intensity to continue in 2011.
